I recently got a Sony Camcorder. it’s really nice. I wanted AVI files but instead it only supports MPG4 AVC or whatever. I’ve spent the past week or so looking for a single video editing software to play back the videos on my hp laptop (windows vista) and not a single software does. However it came with something called PMB thats supposed to work. unfortunatley i cant find the CD right now and i really would like to edit these videos or even watch them. They save as .mpg4 i think and .thmc or something similar to that. if anyone can give me a website or download link or any recommendations to how to play this video or edit it, thanks.

It even says in the manual that there is playback on MAC/PC/Windows vista but even my friends camera doesn’t work on my laptop. and give me any information you can about the download link,what it is, or if you tell me something to use please add a link. thanks(:

I have a Sony camera- model no.: DCR-SX63- I JUST got it. I have a Vista computer, which is kind of new. I loaded the software into my computer: PMB- I’m not sure what this stands for…. I got the I files to work on Windows Media Player too. But when I import them into WMM, it only plays audio, with a black screen. It says they’re MPEG files(MPG, or whatever.), which WMM says it can play. I really don’t want to download something, in case of a virus…. but will if I have to. Otherwise, IDK. I really NEED this done! I have been trying to figure this out for the last week, because I literally just got the camera for my birthday. PLEASE HELP!! Please! *bursts out in tears*
Note: The audio doesn’t work on Windows Media Player, only the video. Opposite…

This happened to me- well almost this. I had an apple file trying to get onto WWM. windows movie maker is a generic system- ONLY windows files can work on it. Adobe Photoshop Premiere takes i think all file types- but in order to save it you have to change the file type to MPEG which is the file its most compaatible with. In your case, it already is MPEG. You could download a trial for 30 days since buying the program is like 70 bucks. I also hear Sony Vega 9.0 is good, and should work wiht your camera since you have a sony camera. But i havent used it. hope i helped

Okay I have a Sony Handycam DCR-SX65 and I like editing my videos and putting extra audio effects and music in them. First I downloaded my videos to my Dell Inspiron Mini Netbook with Windows 7 and then tried to import their video directly to Windows Movie Maker 2.6, well that didn’t work because the videos were the wrong file type. Then I put the video files into Format Factory and tried to convert their file types to WMV. then import them into Movie Maker and it worked. Then I finished my whole video and tried to save it all to WMV. in Movie Maker but it didn’t work! So then I downloaded PMB from the disc I got with my camera and uploaded the videos into that but with PMB you can’t add extra audio and music to videos so I had to put it in Movie Maker. So I saved it in PMB and then imported that video into Movie Maker and then edited that and then tried to save it and again it didn’t save! What do I do? What video editing software do I use? Or can you put extra audio into PMB?

iMovie is the best free one hands down. Final Cut Pro is the best pro one hands down.

Movie maker is garbage. try sony vegas since you have a PC.

So I installed the editor and it put all of my photos into the program, so I deleted them not realizing that the camera photos would be deleted off of my computer too. Right now the recycle bin is my last resort because it’s so clogged but I’ll use it if I have to. I can’t download software either

Find them from recycle bin, if can not find, then you may have to use software.
