I have a Sony 7.2V video camera, and when I try to hook it up to my laptop nothing happens?

Ok so I video taped my cousin graduating from highschool a while ago, and now I want to put it onto a disc. I have a Sony adapter thing, and its hooked up to my laptop. A window popped up saying that I needed to install the software, so I put the CD that came with the adapter into the drive or whatever. It downloaded, and now when its hooked up nothing happens. I opened Windows Movie Maker, and tried to import a video from my video camera and it said that one wasnt found? What should I do?

Try to use axara video converter. It can convert videos to any formats and for any media devices. Also it has good video editor.

when i try to download the updated version it says i have to have the other one installed first…but my computer wont even read it because i got it before windows 7 even came out so its not compatible. i dont know what to do because i need that to get my dvd to upload from my camera.thanks
i tried and it wont let me because i only have home premium. UGHH. nothing is freaking working and i have been trying for 2 hours

microsoft will give you a free copy of XP to run in windows 7
it’s for older programs that will not run in windows 7.

This was originally Windows 7. My brother’s friend changed it to Ubuntu at one point, then I finally asked my brother in law to change it back to Windows 7. I tried going on the Sony software site, downloaded Motion Eye Camera Capture Utility, but no matter how many times I download it I can’t find it when it’s done installing. At some points it gave me a message that it may have not been installed correctly, I try to re-install it “correctly” again and gave me messages “only installs in Windows 7″? When my laptop is already windows 7..

You sure they didn’t fuck with it? I mean open it up and look. Maybe they opened it and tried to change something but accidently disconnected the camera. If so, go to your local computer store, like Best Buy or Office Depot, and ask them to take a look at it. I can’t really say much without taking a look at it.

I just recently installed Windows 7 on my Sony VAIO( MODEL:VGN-SZ110 ) Notebook/ Laptop & My built in Webcam wont work on windows 7!!!!…I tried to install the software from sony dowloads for my laptop BUT it says I can only use the given updates on Windows Vista/Windows XP…WHAT SHOULD I DO??!!…PLEASSE HELP ME!…I’M kind of computer illiterate & I’m hopng for a MIRACLE!!!

Sorry, my friend, but your miracle is NOT going to happen. There aren’t Windows 7 drivers available for your webcam. I’m afraid the only way around this is for you to buy a webcam that has a USB plug and use that.
