Im not use to the camera stuff, I’m more of a phone and computer person.
Can i use any tripod?
or do i have to get a specific one?

Answer by AndrewAll tripods have a 1/4 inch mounting screw, so yes, any tripod /monopod on the market will fit.

Read up on some reviews before purchase, though.

Answer by katykathave u tried going to an appliance store, they have certain things like that, or order one from the sony distributors, they have parts for their merchandise sold separately.

So then. I’m going to New York City in April 2010 with my AP US History class. Should be fun.

Now, I’ve always had a small interest in photography, taking pictures at holidays and my brother’s soccer games and the such. However, I want to start exploring the more technical side of the hobby.

As of now, I’ve narrowed it down to three cameras.

The Sony Alpha 330
The Nikon D3000
and
The Canon Rebel XS

can you adjust the light, exposure and other things like a dslr or a more advanced camera??

Answer by HisWifeTheirMomLight is adjusted by the settings that make up exposure and yes, you can adjust the aperture, shutter speed and ISO on the NEX cameras. It’s being touted as a “mini DSLR.”
They don’t make a whole lot of sense to me, personally. This is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt:
If you want a DSLR, buy a DSLR. If you want a point and shoot with the capabilities of a DSLR and not the investment buy a bridge camera.
