The New Sony Xperia S Boasts A 12 Megapixel Camera With Panoramic Image Capture

The Sony Xperia S was recently announced at the CES show, and looks set to prove popular because of its outstanding spec list and great styling. one of its most impressive features is its 12 megapixel camera, and this will be the focus of this article.

Until now, the only phone to boast a camera with such a high pixel count was the Nokia N8. Although impressive, it lacked 1080p video and a few other features which the Sony Xperia S has included in its list of features. for the last year or so, most high end smartphone releases saw 8 megapixel cameras as the norm, but with the Sony Xperia S we can expect much higher picture quality, not only because of the 12 megapixels, but also the outstanding high definition touchscreen which can be used to enjoy the full effect of your photos and videos.

The camera operates at a pixel resolution of 4000x 3000, meaning that the detail and clarity of the resulting images is superb. Although we are yet to get our hands on the phone due to its recent release, we can anticipate that you will really be able to tell the difference between the pictures between this and phones such as the Apple iPhone 4S or Samsung Galaxy Nexus. the camera comes with several image enhancing features such as touch focus, image stabilisation, face & smile detection and autofocus, which can be found on most smartphone released over the last year or so. However, there are a couple of features which have got many smartphone enthusiasts excited. 3D image capture is the first, which of course means that the camera can produce 3 dimensional images in its full 12 megapixel capacity. the second is panoramic image capture. this allows users to capture panoramic shots, thanks to the wide aperture lens, so wide angle landscape shots can also be captured.

Although the camera is very impressive feature of the Sony Xperia S, you can expect the same levels of quality throughout its spec list; a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor (making it the most powerful smartphone in terms of processing power along with the HTC Sensation XE), advanced LED backlit touchscreen with 720p video playback and Android Gingerbread OS (with a likely upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich) are just some of the other features which make this one of, if not the most advanced smartphones to hit the market in recent months.

It is rumoured that the Sony Ericsson Xperia S will be released in March this year, where we will see several UK networks offering the handset on various tariffs. Keep an eye on PhonesLimited.co.uk for a comparison of the best deals as soon as they are made available.

Home movies shift up a gear this Christmas

If you’ve bought a phone in the past few years, the chances are it can take pictures and video. If you’ve bought a laptop in the past five, it’s certainly powerful enough to edit whatever photos you might take into a decent set of pictures.

The good news is that whether using web services, such as the regularly advertised Moonpig.com, or more advanced software such as Apple’s iMovie, there are plenty of affordable options to choose from.

A dedicated camera or camcorder will make things significantly easier: Sony and Panasonic make products across the range of prices, but in practice the user needs to get into the habit of taking pictures. Thanks to its young audience, Facebook is already the largest repository of digital photographs in the world. here we offer a few tips on how to take a good movie and look at the laptops that are more than capable of turning it into a work of genius.

Tips on shooting your own video

If you are making a video of your family this Christmas, you will find that a little planning will help to create something people will want to watch once the festivities are over.

1. Plan your shoot: before you start the camera rolling, get the family together to brainstorm. You might opt to act out a scene from a Christmas movie, throw a winter dance party or capture the family opening their presents.

2. get the basics right: make sure you have enough light and consider how you’re going to frame your shots. your video will be a disappointment if it’s too dark to see what’s happening, or if you cut off Granny’s head.

3. Three legs are better than two: it’s not a family video if the whole family doesn’t appear in it, so if you have a tripod, use it. not only will this allow whoever is operating the camera to join in the fun in front of it, but it will also result in steadier shots and make you look like a complete professional.

4. the gift that keeps on giving: when you’ve finished putting the final edits on your video card, simply upload it to a video-sharing site such as Vimeo or YouTube and then let other people know it is there via email, Facebook or Twitter. You can protect your video with a password so that only certain people can view it, or create a private group so that others among your family and friends can share their own Christmas video cards. Andrea Allen of Vimeo.com

Master the art of editing

The coming year is set to be the first when major manufacturers — bank-rolled by a $300 million Intel fund — produce laptops with looks to match their performance. beautiful machines, such as the Asus Zenbook and the latest models from Lenovo, will finally be able to compete with the MacBook Air.

1. Choose your software: Windows Movie Maker, Adobe Premiere Elements and website Jaycut.com all offer similar services; take a look at what you may already own and consider which interface you prefer. All these packages are aimed at consumers and many are bundled with camcorders.

2. Assemble your footage: it is vital to identify what looks great among the footage you’ve captured, and to consider whether the piece you planned so carefully actually came out well. so look through everything you’ve shot before you start tinkering with it.

3. Use a template: one of the best things about Apple’s iMovie software is its ability to tell you where to put what sort of footage. If you know you’re looking for a couple of seconds of a certain scene, then puttiing a good film together takes just minutes. other packages offer the same for PCs.

4. Putting your film online: both YouTube and Vimeo have options to keep your films online but private. Software, too, will let you save your film to DVD so you can send it to the less digitally savvy. Matt Warman

Sony SEL16F28 Prime Lens Review for Sony NEX Camera

The SEL16F28 16mm wide angle lens is Sony’s first lens produced for their NEX cameras. Its biggest advantage has to be its compactness and low price. Weighing at just 70 grams, you can’t help but feel this lens was made specifically for carrying around. And sold at just $249, the SEL16F28 has to be a bargain for both professionals and beginners alike.

Where the SEL16F28 excels though is at low light conditions. in sunset or dusk settings, your NEX camera will be able to capture sharp, well-adjusted photos with this lens working for you. And it’s not simply the SEL16F28′s main function; this lens is good for all-around shooting, whether it be wide angle or telephotos. It really reduces the bulk of your NEX camera equipment and produces DSLR quality pictures without all the added weight that comes along with it. It is compatible with following Sony camera and camcorders: NEX-3, NEX-5 and NEX-7 cameras; NEX handycam camcorders.

The SEL16F28 is lightweight yet works heavy duty. It is compact yet elegant. the lens body is made of high quality durable aluminum alloy. the DMF function allows you to focus manually without having to switch once the AF has been locked on.

Product Details

The SEL16F28 has a focal length of 24 millimeters with a minimum aperture of f/22 and maximum aperture of f/2.8. It has a.073x magnifying power with a minimum focus distance of.24m. It has a 49mm filter with a non-rotating, focusing ring. the lens contains 7 circular aperture blades and 5 groups, 5 elements with 1 aspheric surface. Conclusion

Simply put, the bad rep this lens is getting is undeserved. Purists who believe only DSLR cameras and their lenses are worth any time and money have launched an unfair prejudice against the SEL16F28.
There’s nothing bad about a cheap lens that’s not made for a DSLR camera. This lens is what it is – made exactly for Sony NEX cameras. It’s the next generation in lightweight yet functional lenses. It’s stylish, sleek, utilitarian, and totally cool. the SEL16F28 performs more than what’s expected, and performs very well considering its low, low price.

Recover Photos After ‘Memory Stick Error’ in Sony Cameras

A memory stick is a type of flash memory card from Sony. Sony designed a family of memory cards for digital storage in cameras, camcorders, digital music players, PDAs, VAIO laptops and other portable devices. since memory stick is a proprietary Sony product, it is generally compatible with a range of products from Sony. Despite being reliable and durable storage media, sticks can throw errors which could amount to potential photo loss. Such unfortunate situations make you highly dependent on a valid backup. and, if a good backup is not available, then only a digital photo recovery software can rescue your lost photos.

As a practical case, you may encounter the following error while trying to view the pictures of your kid’s bizarre mischievous activities from your Sony camera:

Memory Stick Error

The above error will make the photos of your naughty toddler inaccessible, leaving you annoyed and frustrated.

Cause

The above error could be an outcome of the following reasons:

  • Handling issues with the Sony camera
  • Corrupt memory stick

Resolution

In order to resolve the handling issues, one can try the following steps:

  • 1. Reinserting the stick in your Sony camera
  • 2. Recharging the batteries
  • 3.Trying to access photos on computer via a card reader

If the above steps fail to deliver the expected result, don’t hesitate and format the memory stick in a camera itself.

Formatting erases the previously stored data by installing a new file system. Though the stick becomes reusable, in order to retrieve lost photos post formatting, one has to completely rely either on an updated backup.

The third-party photo recovery utilities being read-only do not modify the original content and recovers photos and other multimedia files from a range of damaged or corrupted storage media including sticks, memory cards, hard drives, zip disks, digital cameras, USB devices and other removable media.

Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery is an efficient tool which recovers lost/deleted/formatted photos, videos, audios from almost all data loss situations. the tool supports photo recovery for both Windows and Mac users and recovers all photo formats including JPEG, TIF, TIFF, BMP, PNG, RAW, Exif etc. in three simple steps viz scan, select and save.

Sony Cybershot DSC-W30 Digital Camera Review

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W30 is a great little camera. Its 6.0 megapixel picture is outstanding and provides an economical way to take great shots every time.

Included with my camera purchase, I recieved a wall charger, NP-BG1 battery, USB cable and the camers itself.

Digital cameras come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. This little digital camera fits easily in a pocket or purse without taking up much room.

Battery life is fairly good, although after having it for some time; the battery tends to last shorter than expected. For taking lots of photos, it would be handy to have one extra battery on hand to ensure that you get all of the shots that you want. there is nothing like not having the battery power and missing those priceless shots.

I currently have a 2 gigabyte memory stick duo which will fit about 150 high quality pictures.

This camera has ten different picture modes including a movie mode. the movie quality is not that great but it does the job for catching something on the whim. Most of the pictures that I have taken have not needed to be altered on the computer after I download them.

The night quality is okay but the photographs tend to become blurred and not focused unless the camera is close to the subject. Sony has always done a great job with their line of cameras and the cyber-shot line of cameras is great.

Digital photography is a great accomplishment and one that everyone can afford. I purchased this camera last year for two-hundred dollars. Overall the camera makes for great pictures without the bulkiness of a big camera and lens.

This line of camera is a great addition for any persons collection of digital products.
Sony packs a punch in this small device and allows anyone an easy start in digital photography.
